Founded in 2018 by Kuranda locals Mark and Val, the Not Just Chocolate Shop is a specialty shop in the beautiful rainforest village of Kuranda focusing on quality Queensland chocolate and sweets.

The idea for The Not Just Chocolate Shop struck, like many a great idea, out of the blue. Mark and Val were sitting chatting one day about how great it would be to be able to work in Kuranda, just 5 minutes from home, and never have to drive down to Cairns every day. They then had a lengthy discussion about what kind of business they could start that would be different from everything else in the village, that would be exclusively Australian made and preferably from local suppliers as well as being a product that they both loved. The answer was simple – a chocolate shop. Given the temperatures in Far North Queensland they realised that chocolate was not a year round product and that they would need to stock not just chocolate – a name was born!

The Not Just Chocolate Shop stocks almost exclusively Queensland made chocolate from both local cacao growers and boutique chocolatiers. They also have a great range of Queensland and Australian made confectionery and nuts, and are proud to also sell wonderful jewellery and crafts from local FNQ artists, local history books, educational games and hand-made bags. The shop is now also making its own range of chocolate bars using local ingredients.
